Biography
David Weaver has been writing for many years. However, he says he
didn't try to publish his work until recently, writing mainly for his own
enjoyment. After reading some of his manuscripts, his friends
recommended he send his work in for publication.
His travels throughout the civilized, and uncivilized, world have given him
the opportunity to gather significant material as background for his
writings. His love for Kenya is quite obvious in his novel, "Brothers of the
Wind". The book creates a 'roots' approach to its people and their
traditions.
David says the two Samburu boys in the novel were patterned after two
boys in the village, who lived basically as depicted in the story. When he
returned after his last visit to Kenya, David made arrangements for one
of the boys to go to high school in Nakuru, Kenya. The boy was a lmurran
(warrior) and had seven brothers and three sisters, all living in three huts
in their family manyatta.
David is retired from the navy, after serving 22 years, and lives in
Windham, NH with his wife Mary. He has three children, David, Alan and
Darlene (DiDi), all happily married and living out of state.
He has just signed up for another book to be published by Publish
America, "Gitmo Run", to be released sometime in the spring.
